Incorporating traditional watchmaking techniques into a design that harkens back to the original Mark 11 Watch, this Pilot’s Watch Mark XVIII features a reduced design inside a compact 40mm case. Its stainless steel construction is not only home to an in house developed movement but also holds a soft iron inner case inside its centre. This cage protects the Calibre 35111 from the damage caused by magnetic fields. This 40mm men’s IWC Schaffhausen Pilot’s Watch Mark XVIII presents the time on a dramatic black dial protected under a sheet of anti reflective and scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass.
A date feature takes up residence at 3 o’clock, completing a balanced and cleverly laid out dial. The IWC Schaffhausen name is emblazoned onto the surface of the dial at 12 o’clock. There a triangular index is accompanied by two dots. Aside from a 42 hour power reserve, the movement also performs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour behind a specially engraved steel caseback bearing a Royal Air Force aircraft. The robust links of this watch’s stainless steel bracelet are tailored and shaped to meld effortlessly to the contours of the wrist, securing with a foldable clasp engraved with the famous IWC lettering.
